About Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Engineering
Established in 1952, Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Engineering is the only public full-time vocational college in Guangdong Province that focuses on water Conservancy and electricity. In 2015, the college was named the fourth national civilized unit by the Central Civilization Commission. Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Engineering (GPWE) is the national (demonstration) key vocational college, the first batch of national demonstration colleges for water conservancy vocational education, the top 50 demonstration units for employment in universities across the country, the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Unit for Talent Cultivation in Higher Vocational Colleges", and they are the second vice chairman of the council at China Water Resources Vocational Education Group. GPWE was repeatedly awarded the title of "Advanced Unit of Vocational Education" by Guangdong province. GPWE consists of Guangzhou Tianhe Campus, Guangzhou Conghua Campus, Feilaixia Teaching Training Base and Jiangwan Intern Power Station, etc.. It covers an area of 1,100 acres, a total construction area is 340,000 square meters, and includes 308 experimental training bases inside and outside the school. There are 13,495 full-time students, more than 800 faculty members. Among them, 273 faculties are senior professional title teachers, 1 teacher is the state council subsidy expert, 2 teachers are the second-level professors, 21 professors, 56 doctors, 330 masters, and title with "double-teacher quality" teachers account for 90.2 % among the full-time professional teachers.
